What does BHV stand for?

The Bedrijfshulpverlening (BHV), or Emergency Response Team in English, is a crucial aspect of workplace safety in the Netherlands. It is a legal requirement for organizations to have designated Emergency Response Officers in place to ensure the safety and well-being of employees and visitors in case of emergencies, such as fires, medical situations, or evacuations. The BHV is responsible for providing first aid, managing evacuations, and fighting small fires, among other tasks. By having a trained and certified team on-site, organizations can minimize the impact of emergencies and protect lives. Compliance with this requirement is not only essential for the safety of everyone involved, but also for meeting the Dutch legal obligations. Course contents

• Life-threatening, emergency and non-emergency accidents
• Consciousness and breathing control
• When to call 112 or family doctor(s)
• Adult CPR, child and baby CPR
• Choking/ suffocation adult, child and baby
• Stop severe bleeding with clean cloth
• High- and low-energy trauma (broken bones, neck injuries, etc.)
• Non-urgent actions via the first aid app
• Fire triangle and extinguishers
• Evacuating a building

Working method

You take the BHV course fully online, at your own pace, wherever and whenever it suits you. You can easily purchase the course via the button at the bottom of this page, pay for it via iDEAL and get started right away. The course contains all the theory of a BHV training course. After completion of the theory, there is an exam, after which, if you pass the exam, you will receive a certificate proving that you have successfully completed the BHV theory.
